Yeah there's actually a lot of odd comparisons that can be made between 76 and SoT. Fallout 76 has enough content to where folks who don't mindlessly rush it will be entertained for a good while meanwhile with SoT three hours would show you all the content it had to offer (as even the Pirate Legend content was literally just mashing Gold Hoarders/Merchant's Alliance/Order of Souls voyages into one big package). Rare basically just polished the heck out of three different versions of the same gameplay loop and expected PvP to carry their game the rest of the way for so many months. If SoT had anywhere near the amount of systems/complexities that Fallout 76 has you know they would've struggled with it or it likely wouldn't have even launched in March 2018. Fallout 76 meanwhile is trying to have pretty much all the trappings of Fallout 4 and then some in a multiplayer environment. Not sure if you actually played SoT at launch or not but it definitely had its share of technical issues.Īlso in comparison to Fallout 76, SoT was minimalistic as hell in terms of what it actually had in the game the devs were also pretty hubristic in nature and it took 4-5 months before we started to see more than pitiful excuses for 'content'.
